What is PGS?

Preimplantation Genetic Screening, or PGS, is a technique used to identify chromosomal abnormalities in an embryo produced through in vitro fertilization. It differs from other genetic screening procedures, such as amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling, because it enables us to check the genetics BEFORE an embryo is put inside a woman’s uterus.
